Pétanque is an enjoyable and social game for people of all ages than can be played with as few as two players, or as many as six. Also commonly referred to as ‘boules’, the game originates from France and involves throwing metal balls towards a wooden jack.

Leeds Pétanque Club was formed in 2006 and is located in the grounds of Kirkstall Abbey Park, just adjacent to the Vesper Gate pub, where a welcoming cold drink in summer or hot drink in winter are readily available. There is also free parking nearby in the Abbey Museum car park.

There are informal club sessions three times a week and newcomers and visitors are always welcome! If you haven’t played before, the best way to learn is by having a go, so come along and join in.
